SCRIPTURE READING:

Isaiah 43:19 – “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”

1 Peter 5:10 – “But [a]may the God of all grace, who called [b]us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, [c]perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”

God initiates new beginnings, but also provides the path – a foundation – to walk it out.

Psalm 40:2 – “He brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.”

Rescue leads to restoration. New life leads to established steps.

Colossians 2:6-7 – “As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith…”

Receiving Christ is the beginning. Walking in Him is the process of being established.

After the new beginning comes the process of being spiritually grounded.

God does not just start something new – He builds it to last. Establishment is the divine follow-through.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE ESTABLISHED?

To be established in the Bible means to be:

  1. Permanently settled in every area of your life
  2. To be firmly planted in a place or something e.g. God’s Word, business, career
  3. To be built up
  4. To be stabilised never to live a life of ups and downs
  5. To be set up never to be pulled down again
  6. To be rooted, fixed and unmoveable planted by God that you cannot be moved
  7. To be secured, and to be safe and to be brought to the place where your life is not at the mercy of a man
  8.  To be preserved by God Himself and confirmed – often by God Himself. It reflects a state of spiritual stability, divine approval, and enduring purpose. The term appears in both Old and New Testaments, carrying rich theological and practical significance.

To be established means stepping into your divine identity and purpose

Biblical Definition of “Establish”
