When you read; 1st Thessalonians 2:18, We wanted to come to you. Again and again I, Paul, wanted to come. But Satan blocked our way
Before I proceed, I decree over someone that every force blocking your path of advancement, be destroyed by the fire of God, in Jesus Name. Amen!
When you reflect on the verse above by the inspiration of the Holy-Ghost, Paul was really saying “I wanted to come and dine with you, again & again but satan blocked my way again & again”, because the enemy knew that If I (Paul) come to dine with you, God will use me to bring salvation, healing & deliverance your way.
-The enemy understands what can happen when the power of God comes to dine with you. He knows that when divine intervention comes your way, your life will change for good and so he does all his manipulation to block it! But Jabez used the weapon of prayer to call on God to come & dine with him and bible says God granted him what he prayed for (1 Chronicles 4:10b; GNT). Meaning that if he did not ask God in prayer to come & dine with him, Jabez would have died in sorrow, pain, and regret. Please always remember that Prayer is another important key you must employ when you want God to come & dine with you for your situation to change. (James 5:15a, Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray)
- Apart from your flesh, there are essentially two spiritual forces that want to dine with you; God and the devil
- Who your gatekeeper is so important in determining the flow of either good or bad things in your life. In Esther 2 vs 21-23; we are told that Mordecai was a gatekeeper at the Kings gate and he overheard how two important people in that empire planned to kill the king and he passed on the information to Queen Esther who passed on the information to the King and the King’s life and his empire was saved because of a gatekeeper. But if Mordecai choose to be an evil gate-keeper and decided to sit on that information or worse co-operate with the rebels, that is how the king and his empire would have been exterminated
-Brethren, make no mistake the nature of the forces that are gatekeepers of your life and destiny will determine to a great extent the kind of things that come in to dine with you.
-As we said earlier the gatekeeper can be inherited or self-imposed curses, strange devilish altars or mysterious covenants guarding the gates of a man’s life and nation
- For all believers, the Holy-Spirit acts as your gatekeeper. John 16:13, tells us that The Holy-Spirit guides us in all truth.
-In the Holy-Spirit function of guiding you into all truth is also related to the Holy-Spirit ability of controlling what can access your life if you allow Him.
-Scriptures says let the peace of God that surpasses understanding guard your heart & mind through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
– It is the Holy-Spirit that gives you that peace of God that is able to guard your heart and mind. It is the activity of the Holy-Spirit in your life as a believer that is able to bring the peace of God that acts as a gatekeeper to prevent depression and any other wrong thing from coming into your life if you allow him.
-It is the activity of the Holy-Spirit that acts as a gatekeeper to prevent fear from coming into your life if you allow Him.
-It is the activity of the Holy-Spirit in your life that acts as a guard to prevent what people say put you down if you allow Him.
- But why is it that a husband who is saved for example, a worker in church, a senior person in church can beat the wife to death? This is where my Comforter taught me the concept of more than one gatekeeper. A rich man may hire more than one gatekeeper to guard his gate. But you agree with me, one of those gatekeepers will be more domineering than the others for whatever reason. Some believers are indeed saved no doubt, the Holy-Spirit is in them, but despite many sermons and lack of intimate relationship with God, they still live by the flesh even though they go to church. For some, it is pride that is the other gatekeeper which contends with the activity of the Holy-Spirit in their mind and life. For some it is sexual immorality that is the other gatekeeper even though they are a “big pastor” in church and it fights with the activity of the Holy-Spirit, making them yield in the physical to the desires of the flesh.
–Read Galatians 5:17 (The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions) NLT.
-Another gate-keeper believer must be aware of is Mr flesh. Mr flesh if you allow it, will weigh you down and make you sin against God. Futhermore, where you have existing altars & covenants that you have not dealt with as a child of God, somehow, those strange altars & covenants can also cooperate with Mr flesh to stop good things from God, coming to dine with you.
-Do you see this people of God that a believer given to pride, Pride is constantly fighting the Holy-Spirit so that the good things that God wants to come your way cannot come because God detest the proud.
-A believer still led by pornography has sexual immorality as another gatekeeper in his life that is constantly fighting the operation of the Holy-Spirit in the life of that fellow that the spiritual blessings, physical blessings and favour that God wants to bring you way cannot manifest.
-So this explains why a tongue talking Holy-Spirit filled man will beat his wife to death because the other gatekeeper of his life is unrestrained anger.
-This explains why a woman who says she is worker in church, after the husband has brought her to the UK to settle, sacrificed for her to go to University and becomes a career professional, she will now be disrespectful to the husband & treat him badly because the gatekeeper of Pride is controlling her life.
-As long as the works of the flesh still dominates your life, they become the gatekeepers that open the gate for the enemy to enter your life.
-As long as sexual immorality is the dominant gatekeeper in your life, it will open the gate for the enemy to enter your life.
-As long as lies and manipulation is the dominant gate keeper in your life, it will open the gate for demons to enter your life.
-That is why Paul was direct in telling the church in Colosse who were being swayed with human philosophy & tradition not to pamper the flesh in Colossians 3 v 5-6 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,
-As long as the church (the body of Christ around the world) continues to bring in useless and ungodly human practices, philosophies, and traditions into God’s kingdom, we cannot expect our lives as believers to attract people into His Kingdom!
-Sir/Ma, how long are you going to pamper your flesh using the sentimental and somewhat devilish reasoning of “am only human after all,” and think you can experience the kind of power, glory & favour He wants for your life.
-We see Pastor Enoch Adeboye (General Overseer of RCCG Worldwide) and many of us want the kind of glory that God has given him, and yes there is the grace of God upon in his life no doubt, but to keep that grace going from height to height, what you and I don’t see is the painful dying to the flesh he has to do on a daily basis.
-Jesus wants to dine with you, and He is coming with uncommon favour, miracles and breakthroughs and the Holy-Spirit opens the gate but then then the unbridled anger comes up and says, yes O, he is saved, but he loves anger more. Look at the way he just yelled at his wife just now and he is happy about destroying his wife’s self-esteem. The gate closes and that is how the fellow missed on favour for his job that could have propelled him to a great height which he has been praying about.
-Jesus wants to dine with you, He is bringing blessings, then unforgiveness comes up, no sir you can’t bring that blessing through this gate, she still secretly harbours hatred towards her sister in church even though the sister apologised. That’s how the sister misses out on the human connection that God was bringing her way to link her to the husband of her dreams.
-Believers in Christ it not enough to play church, anyone can do that and pretend to be spiritual but only you will know as a child of God what forces or flesh are on a daily basis constantly fighting the Holy-Spirit in you as the Holy-Spirit teaches us all things (John 14:26)
And if you are reading this article as an unbeliever. In fact Jesus wrote this article just for you because He loves you, He wants to dine with you. Accept Him as Lord of your life and I can assure you that glorious things through Jesus Christ will come to dine and settle with you.

Lord Jesus forgive me of my sins. I repent of my sins. Lord Jesus come into my life and be my Lord now and forever in Jesus Name“
I decree over someone here today reading this article that the bondage to your flesh that is not allowing you to rise in God’s Kingdom is broken now, in the name of Jesus. If you believe you have gotten your freedom, Shout “Hallelujah”
