E. For Jesus to come dine with you, He needs you to open the gate of your life to Him
Another factor to consider in this topic based on John 10 v 1-3; John 10: 1-3; “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up from some other place [on the stone wall], that one is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep [the protector and provider]. 3 The [a]doorkeeper opens [the gate] for this man, and the sheep hear his voice and pay attention to it. And [knowing that they listen] he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out [to pasture].”
We have Robber/Thief: and we know that the thief/robber represents the devil. The bible says the thief comes to steal, kill & destroy. This is the 3-fold ministry of the devil from which other extension of his wickedness is built upon.
-You see just as God prepares a table for you & I to choose to dine with him. The devil too has prepared a table for those who choose to dine with him.
Read 1st Corinthians 10:21; You cannot drink [both] the Lord’s cup and the cup of demons. You cannot share in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons [thereby becoming partners with them].
There is a table of demons and just like Jesus is calling to the whole world to come & dine with Him. The devil who can pretend also to be an angel of light is calling out to the world, “come and dine with him, come and be intimate with me”, the devil says and unfortunately some believers have compromised are giving in.
In Gen 39:7; and Potiphar’s wife soon began to look at him lustfully. “Come and sleep with me,” she demanded.
Potiphar’s wife is a representation of the wicked activities of demons in these last days in all the continents of the world and if you are sensitive everything, they are saying to the world through every means possible is “come & sleep with me”. The demons are working overtime to seduce man, through finances, career, social media, perverse value system of the world to come and dine at his table, to come and sleep with him.
-Let’s be frank, sadly UK has forsaken the true God that their forefather stood for and now have chosen to dine at the table of demons, just take a look at our society now, it is evident UK does not dine at the table of Jesus anymore but is sleeping with the enemy.
-At an individual level, some believers are sleeping with the devil at the altar of pornography. Other believers are sleeping with the devil at the altar of hatred & unforgiveness. Others are dining with the devil at the altar of apathy to the things of God. They go to church but they have no concern or enthusiasm for prayer. They have no enthusiasm for reading the bible or anything that can possibly make them grow spiritually.
John 10:3a, The [a]doorkeeper opens [the gate] for this man
Jesus wants to come & dine with you but two things also need to be understood which are the concept of the “gatekeeper” & opening “the gate”
This concept could be best understood if we think about Africa. In many of the rich houses in Africa, they have massive gates and an armed gatekeeper who controls in the flow of people & things through that gate. If I woke up this morning and said I want to dine with you in your mansion in Nigeria for example, and you are not at home. But on getting there the armed gateman will refuse me access, can I enter? No. So, even though you are not physically there, by virtue of a contract (which you can liken to a covenant) which you have with the gate-keeper, he can still enforce who comes into your mansion when you are not there. That is why in the spiritual realm whether a man lives his home nation for greener pastures elsewhere, even in that foreign land, thinking he has physically left behind the ancestral wicked altars of his ancestry, because there is no distance in the spiritual realm that spiritual gate of his ancestry in that foreign country can speak either good or bad for that fellow
Understand this.
- Everybody’s life has a gate in the spiritual realm. Whether you accept it not, there are forces who do not want Jesus to come & dine with you, because they know when a King comes to dine with you, He does not come empty handed. When Jesus comes to dine with you, He brings healing, He brings favour, He brings miracles, yet there are forces at the gate of your life that questions the authenticity of why Jesus should favour you. Read the dialogue between God Almighty and a gate to deepen our insight on the spiritual gates in man’s life and a nation.
Read, Psalm 24:7-8; Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.
-The King of glory commanded gates to be lifted and the powers controlling that gate still could respond, who is this King of Glory that I should open. Don’t you know there is an altar of sickness that run in his family line, so divine healing cannot come and dine here.
-Other gates may say there is altar of poverty that runs from his ancestors, his grandfather died in poverty, his own father is in financial debt, so financial favour cannot come his way.
-Other gates may say there is a mysterious covenant that says she must not marry and if at all she marries she must marry late or to a strange husband that will wreck her destiny, but other blessing can come in and dine with her but not the blessing of a God-fearing husband.
-But when the King of glory gave his credentials, I am The Lord that is Strong & Mighty, I am the Lord Mighty in battle. The gate now knew the One that has superior and absolute power was speaking, the gate opened for The Lord Mighty in Battle to enter.
-I don’t know what good thing that the gates of your life has stopped from coming to dine with you but I prophesy over someone today that The LORD Mighty in Battle will step in now and the gates of your life shall open to allow unusual favour to come in now in the name of Jesus.
-There is someone here going through a strange sickness that is defying medical treatment, if your faith can take it, The Lord mighty in battle has stepped in now and the gate of your life shall open now to receive your divine healing. (Pray as the Spirit leads).
I want to stress there are many keys of the kingdom you can use to cause the gate of your life to open for divine intervention as a believer but I would like to re-emphasise the ministry of prayer is a very important key. You must engage in the dimension of prayer with passion and zeal to force those gates open that have been stubbornly stopping good things from coming to dine with you.
Altar call: For anyone reading this article who is not saved and wants to be part of the family of God or you want to re-dedicate your life back to Jesus, please repeat this out loud. “Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I have sinned against you. Lord Jesus forgive me of my sins. I repent of my sins. Lord Jesus come into my life and be my Lord now and forever in Jesus Name“
