As I spent time with the Lord, the Holy Spirit dropped these words into my heart: Character, Clarity, and Confidence.
Something profound happens when a believer consistently spends time in God’s presence. It is not always dramatic. It is not always accompanied by strong emotions. Sometimes it happens quietly and gradually. Yet something deeply spiritual is taking place.
When we spend time with God through prayer, worship, meditation on His Word, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, He begins to shape us from the inside out.

The transformation may not always be immediately visible, but over time its effects become undeniable.
1. Character
The first thing that develops in God’s presence is character.
When Moses spent time with God on Mount Sinai, he came down different. His face literally shone because he had been in God’s presence.
Exodus 34:29 NKJV says:
“Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai… that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.”
Something similar happens spiritually to every believer who spends time with God.
You may not physically glow like Moses! but His nature begins to rub off on you.
The more time you spend with Him, the more you begin to think like Him, speak like Him, and respond like Him.
Your attitudes begin to change.
Your reactions begin to change.
Your desires begin to change.
The Holy Spirit begins to stir and cultivate His fruit within you.
Galatians 5:22-23 says; “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control.” NKJV
Notice that Scripture calls it the fruit of the Spirit. This fruit is not produced by human effort alone. It is the result of abiding in God’s presence and yielding to His work within us.
As you spend time with God, He teaches you patience when you want immediate answers.
He teaches you trust when circumstances seem uncertain.
He teaches you peace when situations are chaotic.
He teaches you love when people are difficult.
He teaches you faithfulness when nobody notices your obedience.
Dear friend, more than the physical answers to your prayers, character formation is one of God’s primary works in His presence. So when it feels as though God has not heard your prayers in the secret place, it may be that He has answered. He has simply begun His work in you before the external manifestation comes. You desire to manifest divine power, but He develops patience in you first
Romans 8:29 says; “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.” NKJV
God’s ultimate goal is not merely to bless us. His goal is to make us more like Jesus.
The more time you spend with Him, the more His character is formed within you.
2. Clarity
The second thing that happens in God’s presence is clarity.
Many believers struggle with confusion because they are trying to navigate life without consistently seeking God’s voice.
Yet one moment in God’s presence can bring clarity that months of human reasoning and striving cannot produce.
Psalm 119:105 says; “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” NKJV
God’s presence illuminates the path ahead.
His Word shines light on areas that once seemed uncertain.
The Holy Spirit provides wisdom and direction.
As you spend time with Him, His purpose for your life becomes clearer.
Your priorities become clearer.
Your assignments become clearer.
Even when you do not have every detail about the future, you gain confidence that God is leading you step by step.
One of the greatest blessings of clarity is peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 says; “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” NKJV
This peace does not always make logical sense.
It is the peace that remains when circumstances suggest you should be worried.
It is the peace that remains when answers have not yet arrived.
It is the peace that comes from knowing God is in control.
When confusion leaves, clarity emerges.
When clarity emerges, peace follows.

3. Confidence
The third thing that develops in God’s presence is confidence.
Not confidence in yourself.
Not confidence in your abilities.
Not confidence in your achievements.
Confidence in Christ and who He says you are.
Many believers struggle because they have greater awareness of their weaknesses than they do of their identity in Christ.
But when you spend time in God’s presence, the Holy Spirit continually reminds you of spiritual realities.
You discover that you have been made righteous in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:21 says; “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” NKJV
You discover that you are God’s workmanship (His masterpiece).
Ephesians 2:10 says: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.” NKJV
You discover that you are already accepted in the Beloved.
Ephesians 1:6 says; “To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” NKJV
– Dear friend, when you truly and deeply understand Ephesians 1:6 as a covenant child of God; for instance, you will stop seeking the approval of men, because you know that in Christ you are already accepted by God.”
You discover that you are seated with Christ in heavenly places.
Ephesians 2:6 says; “And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” NKJV
You discover that you have heavenly treasures within you
2 Corinthians 4:7 says; “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”
The “treasure” is the glory of Christ and the light of the gospel inside you. God has placed divine resources and spiritual riches within you that are of divine value and honour.
You discover that the Holy Spirit lives in you
1 Corinthians 6:19 says; “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” NKJV
You discover that Christ Himself lives within you.
Colossians 1:27 says; “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” NKJV
As these truths move from your head into your heart, supernatural confidence begins to grow.
Fear loses its grip.
Intimidation begins to break.
Feelings of inferiority begin to disappear.
You begin to see yourself through God’s eyes rather than through the opinions of people.
David understood this confidence.
Psalm 18:29 says; “For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall.” NKJV
This is not self-confidence.
This is God confidence.
It is the confidence that says, “If God is for me, who can be against me?”
It is the confidence that believes God can do the impossible.
It is the confidence that produces supernatural faith.
The more time you spend with God, the more you begin to realise that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you.
And when that revelation becomes real to you, limitations begin to lose their power.
Conclusion
When you spend time with God consistently, three powerful things happen.
- Your Character is transformed as His nature is formed within you.
- Your Clarity increases as His wisdom and peace guide your life.
- Your Confidence grows as the Holy Spirit reveals your identity in Christ.
Character changes how you live.
Clarity changes how you see.
Confidence changes how you move forward.
These are not merely benefits of God’s presence. They are evidence that His presence is changing you from glory to glory into the image of Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:18 declares; “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” NKJV
Altar call: For anyone reading this article who is not saved and wants to be part of the family of God or you want to re-dedicate your life back to Jesus, please repeat this out loud. “Lord Jesus, I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my old ways and ask You to forgive me. Come into my heart, be my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with Your Spirit and help me live for You. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus Name. Amen“
Prayer-Declaration: Father, as I spend time with You, let Your nature transform my character. Let Your wisdom give me greater divine clarity in every area of my life. Help me become more aware of my identity in Christ, so I may move forward boldly in the calling You have given me, in Jesus Name. Amen.
