Dear Reader; God Elevates You for Purpose, Not for Pride

Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV)“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant…”

One of the greatest truths about divine elevation is this: God lifts us for His purpose—not our pride. When God gives you success, influence, wealth, or recognition, it is never just about you. It is about what He wants to do through you.

God does not promote us so we can boast about how great we are. He elevates us so we can be a blessing to others, advance His kingdom, and shine His light in the world. The wealth, influence, or platforms He gives are tools—not trophies. And those tools are meant to be used to fulfil His divine plan.

In Deuteronomy 8, God reminds Israel that when they enter the Promised Land and begin to enjoy abundance, they must not forget the One who empowered them to succeed. The warning is clear: Don’t let your heart become proud. Remember that every promotion, every breakthrough, every open door—comes from God and is meant to establish His purpose on the earth.

We see this powerfully in the story of Esther. She was a young Jewish girl elevated to become queen in a foreign land. Her rise was unlikely, and at first, she didn’t understand the full reason why she had been placed in such a powerful position. But when her people were in danger, her uncle Mordecai challenged her with this question:

Esther 4:14“Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Esther realised her elevation was not just for comfort or status—it was for a divine assignment. She boldly used her position to intercede for her people and save a nation.

This is the heart of godly elevation: impact and purpose.

Whether you are rising in your business, growing in ministry, receiving financial breakthrough, or stepping into a new role—ask God why He gave it to you. What problem does He want you to solve? What people does He want you to reach? What part of His kingdom does He want you to build?

Application in Your Life:

Instead of asking, “How can I enjoy this blessing?”, ask, “How can I use this blessing for God’s glory?”

  • Use your position to lift others up.
  • Use your resources to help the needy.
  • Use your voice to speak truth and bring hope.
  • Use your talents to point people to Jesus.

When you understand that your elevation is an assignment, you will handle success with humility, use influence wisely, and stay connected to the God who gave it all in the first place.

Luke 12:48b (NKJV)“To whom much is given, from him much will be required.”

God bless you, in Jesus Name. Amen
