As believers, we are called to be transformed—and no, this has nothing to do with the movie Transformers! (My weak attempt at cracking a joke while writing this article!) 😊

Who is a Transformed Believer in Christ Jesus?

A transformed believer in Christ is someone who has undergone a spiritual change—an inner renewal brought about by faith in Jesus, resulting in a new way of thinking, living, and being. This transformation is a process that begins with salvation and continues as the believer grows in relationship with God.

1. What Does It Mean to Be Transformed in Christ?

Transformation means a complete change in nature, character, and purpose. The Bible describes it as moving from the old life (dominated by sin and self) into a new life (led by the Spirit of God).

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV):
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

When someone comes to Christ, they are spiritually reborn. God gives them a new heart, new desires, and a new perspective on life.

2. Attributes of a Transformed Believer

a) Renewed Mind

Romans 12:2 (NKJV):
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
A transformed believer no longer thinks like the world but allows God’s Word to reshape their thinking and mental construct. They make decisions based on God’s will rather than human philiosphy, culture or emotions.

b) A Lifestyle of Holiness

1 Peter 1:15-16 (NKJV):
“But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.'”
Their actions reflect God’s character. They strive to live pure and upright lives, avoiding sin and pursuing righteousness.

c) The Fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV):
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…”
A transformed believer exhibits godly character traits. Their life is marked by love, patience, kindness, and self-control.

d) Christlike Humility

Philippians 2:5 (NKJV):
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”
They are humble, like Christ, putting others before themselves and serving with love and compassion.

e) A Servant’s Heart

Mark 10:45 (NKJV):
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
They seek to serve others selflessly, using their gifts to glorify God and bless people.

f) Boldness and Confidence in God

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV):
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
A transformed believer is bold in faith, unashamed of the Gospel, and confident in God’s promises.

3. How Can One Be Transformed?

a) Surrender to Christ (Salvation)

The first step is to believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
John 3:3 (NKJV):
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

b) Consistent Renewal Through God’s Word

Transformation happens as we read, meditate on, and obey Scripture. God’s Word renews the mind and reshapes how we think and act.

c) Prayer and Fellowship with the Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV):
“But we all…beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
The Holy Spirit works in us daily as we seek Him in prayer and yield to His guidance.

d) Fellowship with Other Believers

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NKJV):
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…”
A transformed believer connects with other Christians for encouragement, accountability, and spiritual growth.

e) Obedience to God’s Commands

James 1:22 (NKJV):
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
Transformation requires putting God’s Word into practice daily. A transformed believer is a daily practitioner of God’s word.

Summary

A transformed believer in Christ is someone who lives a new life empowered by the Holy Spirit, reflecting Christ in their thoughts, words, and actions. They are marked by a renewed mind, godly character, and a heart fully surrendered to God’s purposes.

Altar call: For anyone reading this article who is not saved and wants to be part of the family of God or you want to re-dedicate your life back to Jesus, please repeat this out loud. “Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I have sinned against you. Lord Jesus forgive me of my sins. I repent of my sins. Lord Jesus come into my life and be my Lord now and forever in Jesus Name. Amen

Prayer: Any dark power assigned to block my daily spiritual transformation in Christ Jesus, be utterly disgraced now, by the power in the blood of Jesus, in Jesus Mighty Name.

  1. Thank you for sharing this beautiful message. It’s always inspiring to see people giving glory to God and expressing their faith so openly. I truly believe that blessings come when we acknowledge His presence in our lives. May we all continue to walk in His grace and seek His guidance daily. How do you personally experience God’s blessings in your life? I’d love to hear more about your journey and how faith has shaped you. Let’s keep encouraging one another in His name!

    1. Thank you Hemnamaza for your comments. In view of the question you asked me. I cannot fully answer this question in writing because
there is so much God has done for me or helped me in my faith journey with Him. But one thing I have learnt, and I must confess,
the late Pastor TL Osborn shared this with me in his teachings; “practice the presence of Jesus” By the help of the Holy Spirit, I strive
to practice the presence of Jesus in my life everyday by yeilding all that I am to the direction and leading of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis. I hope this helps. God bless you in Jesus Name. Amen
