Hi children. Let’s talk about something very important, — having a vision for your life. Vision is like a dream or a plan for your future, and God wants to help you with it. Let’s learn what the Bible says about why we need vision and how to trust God with our plans.

1. What Does the Bible Say About Vision?

The Bible teaches us about vision in a really cool way:

  • Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NKJV): “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

This means that God wants us to think about our goals and write them down so we can follow them. But sometimes, it takes time for those dreams to happen, and we need to be patient and trust God.

  • Proverbs 29:18 (NKJV): “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law.”

When we don’t have a vision or plan, it’s easy to get distracted or make mistakes. But when we listen to God, He helps us stay focused and happy!

2. God Can Give You Dreams and Goals

Did you know that God loves giving His children dreams and goals?

  • Joel 2:28 (NKJV): “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

This means that God can speak to you in many ways—through His Word, through prayer, or even through a dream in your heart. He wants you to know that He has great plans for you!

3. What Should You Do With Your Vision?

Here’s how you can take action like Habakkuk did:

  • Pray for Guidance: Ask God to help you understand what His plans are for you.
    • For example, pray, “God, what do You want me to do when I grow up? How can I use my gifts to make You happy?”
  • Write It Down: Just like Habakkuk wrote down the vision, you can write down your dreams and goals. It could be something like:
    • “I want to help people by being a doctor or teacher.”
    • “I want to share God’s love by being kind and telling my friends about Jesus.”
  • Be Patient and Trust God’s Timing: Sometimes, the things we hope for don’t happen right away. But that’s okay because God knows the perfect time to make things happen.

4. Life Application: What Can You Do Now?

  • Think About Your Gifts: What are you good at? Maybe you’re great at drawing, singing, helping others, or solving problems. These talents can be part of God’s plan for you.
  • Set Small Goals: For example, if you dream of being a musician, start by practicing every day. If you want to help others, look for ways to be kind at home or school.
  • Trust God to Help You: Remember, you don’t have to figure everything out on your own. God promises to guide you.
    • Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

5. Why Is Vision Important?

Vision helps you stay focused and make good choices. If you know God’s plan for you, it’s easier to say “no” to distractions or things that aren’t good for you. For example:

  • If you know God wants you to do well in school, you’ll choose to study instead of playing video games all day.
  • If you know God wants you to be kind, you’ll choose to forgive someone instead of staying angry.

Final Thought

God has an amazing plan for your life! Take some time to pray, think about your goals, and write them down. Remember, God loves you, and He will help you every step of the way. Be patient, trust His timing, and always listen to His voice. You’re never too young to dream big with God!

Like young David, who slayed Goliath, God will certainly use you to achieve and accomplish great things in life, in Jesus Name. Amen
