Text: Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV): “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith can be defined as a confident trust and belief in God and His promises, even when they are not visible or fully understood. It is a foundational aspect of the believers life in Christ, providing assurance and conviction about the things hoped for and unseen.

  • Faith is the foundation of our relationship with God: Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV): “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Faith is foundational in our relationship with God. Believing in God’s existence, His goodness, His mercy and His grace is crucial for accessing His salvation and blessings.

  • We are saved by faith (in Christ Jesus): Acts 16:31 (AMP); “And they answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus [as your personal Savior and entrust yourself to Him] and you will be saved, you and your household [if they also believe].”
  • By faith you are sanctified/purified: Acts 15:9; “and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith” NKJV
  • You are kept by Faith: 1 Peter 1:5; “who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” NKJV

We are protected, shielded, kept safe by God power through faith in Him

  • By faith we overcome all obstacles and difficulties: Romans 4:20 “But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God,” (AMP)
  • We walk by faith as believers: 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV): “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

As believers, we live our lives based on faith in God and His Word, rather than relying solely on our physical senses. Faith is how we access the invisible realm that is controlled by God. A quote by Pastor Benny Hinn “God is the Source of faith, Jesus is the Word of faith. The Holy-Spirit is the Substance of faith. And we operate and live in the substance of faith everyday by faith.” It’s only walking by faith and God’s word can we truly walk in the Spirit as believers, where the realm of senses have no power over us or the realities we can manifest. Too many times we as believers operate only at the sense realm, what we can touch, feel, see or smell or logically think and that is why we are not getting the kind of results the early church in the book of the Acts of the Apostle displayed.

  • The dimensions of peace and joy we want to see in our lives can only be gotten through faith

Romans 15:13 (NKJV): “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Notice what Paul was saying; God wants to fill your life with all the joy and peace you need in life, but it can only be gotten in believing or by faith. Belief in God brings joy, peace, and hope, empowering us through the Holy Spirit.

Notice that Romans 15:13 gives us a powerful equation; that your faith + Empowering (or power) of the Holy-Spirit leads to divine results. In fact your faith draws out the power of God. In the story of the woman who was healed of the issue of blood (Mark 5: 28-30), she touched Jesus and Jesus was asking who touched me because power has left me. Jesus was teaching you and I that faith draws out the power of God and the result is healing, breakthrough, deliverance.

  • Your confession must match your faith. if there is disparity in your faith and what you are confessing, then your faith is dead and there will be no results. Let us analyse the words of the woman of the issue of blood just before she touched the clothes of Jesus. In Mark 5:28; “28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” NKJV

If she had said “if only I touch His clothes, I may be made well” would she had been healed? No. why? Because the use of “may” suggest uncertainty, doubt, not fully believing. And when you go about confessing doubt, fear, the blessing is aborted! Even if it is our father-in-the-Lord Pastor Enoch Adeboye that prayed for you, there will be no results, because through your words, you talked away or confessed away the miracle. After spending hours in the place of prayer, what is your confession? Are you confessing the magnitude of the problem, this is one reason why prayers are not answered

  • Faith gives you access to the glory of God. John 11:40 (NKJV): Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

This is the narrative of Lazarus Raised from the Dead. Jesus was speaking to Martha, and encouraging her to have faith and she would experience the glory of God. Faith enables us to see and experience the glory and power of God in our lives. Faith is the key that opens the door for God’s glory manifesting in our lives.

  • Faith in God makes the impossible become possible: Mark 9:23 (NKJV): Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

That in the dictionary of faith, there is no limitation. In the dictionary of faith there is nothing called impossible. The dictionary of faith says “all things are possible with God on your side” I repeat with God on your side, there is nothing you cannot accomplish or no height of glory that you cannot attain. Faith opens the door to God’s limitless possibilities and miracles.

  • Through faith we access every dimension of victory that God has already given us in the heavenly realm. 1 John 5:4 (NKJV): “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”

Every dimension of victory you are looking for in Christ as a believer is possible through faith in God’s word and promises. There is no difficulty, mountain, hill or valley that confronts you right now that faith in God cannot give you victory. Faith in God grants us victory over the challenges and trials of the world. Faith in God, Faith in His word, Faith in His power attracts divine victory into your life.

God bless you. (Please look out for part-2 of this article)
