In the Psalms, there are many instances where the authors speak directly to their own souls during times of distress. Here are a few examples that you can use in your day to day life:

1.  Psalm 62:5 (ESV):

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him.”

In this verse, the psalmist encourages their soul to wait patiently for God, recognising that their hope comes from Him.

2.   Psalm 103:1-2 (NIV):

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name.”

Here, David speaks to his own soul, urging it to praise the Lord with all its innermost being.

3.   Psalm 42:5 (KJV):

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.”

David addresses his soul, questioning its distress and encouraging it to find hope in God.

4.    Psalm 131:2 (ESV):

“But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.”

The psalmist describes the stillness and trust in God, comparing it to a weaned child resting contentedly with its mother.

Dear reader may these verses inspire you to speak life and encouragement to your own soul through God’s word. Remember God’s word is Spirit and Life. God’s word proclaimed in faith will turn things around for good in your life. Dont give up, keep confessing God’s word; your divine turn-around for good is coming, in Jesus Name. Amen
