Text: 1 Kings 13:1-3; And behold, a man of God came out of Judah by the word of the Lord to Bethel. Jeroboam was standing by the altar to make offerings. 2 And the man cried against the altar by the word of the Lord and said, “O altar, altar, thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name, and he shall sacrifice on you the priests of the high places who make offerings on you, and human bones shall be burned on you.’” 3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, “This is the sign that the Lord has spoken: ‘Behold, the altar shall be torn down, and the ashes that are on it shall be poured out.’ (ESV)
Altars in the most simplistic definition are systems that give permission to spirits whether evil or good to operate in a family, place, or person. And if the altars over your life are negative, they will cause all kinds of affliction and negativity to come upon your life. These altars may come into your life from various means, but one of the most common altars affecting many believers are the negative altars from one’s ancestry that power many evil patterns seen in the family’s lineage.
These negative altars have supporting spirits that power curses or evil covenants that can follow a man’s life. God was determined to bring revival to Israel again following King Jeroboam wickedness of spiritually polluting Israel through worship of foreign gods. But God had to send a young prophet to first cry against (which can mean pray against) the altar of evil and the outcome is that the evil altar was torn down by the power of God. Except the evil altars in your life is torn down, they cycle of evil patterns will keep being perpetuated. Arise in aggressive & fervent prayer today and trust God to completely demolish these altars speaking against you in the name of Jesus.
Prayer points
- Start by praising and worshipping God for as long as you are led.
- I stand in the gap for my life & family and plead for mercy upon altars of sin & iniquity powering other evil altars and patterns in my life and family in Jesus Name.
- I disconnect myself and family from evil altars, evil ordinances, idols and deities of my father’s house, mother’s house (and if married, altars of my in-law’s house) in the name of Jesus. I declare that as for me and my household we shall serve God Almighty alone in Jesus Name.
- By the power in the blood of Jesus, I break every legal ground that any demonic altar has over my life in the name of Jesus. I command these altars to be torn down by the fire of God in Jesus Name
- Satanic altars that are still crying against my life and family, be destroyed now by the fire of the Holy-Ghost in the name of Jesus
- I decree in the name of Jesus, that my destiny is no longer connected to the limitations & evil present in my blood line in the name of Jesus
- Wicked altars of my foundation that is still refusing to let me go, I cry against you by the word of the Lord be torn down and burn to ashes by the consuming fire of God in the name of Jesus
- Altars sponsoring long-term problems in my life and family be terminated now by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus
- Altar of poverty, Altar of suffering and hardship, Altar of sickness & disease (list any other altar you suspect is operating in your life), hear the word of the Lord, be exterminated now by the power of God in Jesus Name.
- My life, my destiny, my family, I connect you to The Throne of God’s Grace by the blood of Jesus in the name of Jesus. Therefore my life begins to experience favour, promotion, destiny-helpers, divine health, healing, fruitfulness, fervent prayer-life and spiritual life in Christ, in Jesus Name.
