Bible Text- Exodus 14:15

-“Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to start moving.” (NOG)

-“The Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward!” (AMPC)

I decree over someone here today; Yahweh says to you, “move forward into your destiny this year, start moving into that abundant place He has ordained for you, in Jesus Name” Amen!

Lets look at three more kingdom strategies that facilitate our moving forward by faith.

  • Pressing Toward the Goal:

Philippians 3:14 (ESV) – “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Like the apostle Paul, moving forward requires a continual pressing toward the spiritual goals set before us.

Caleb is another example of a man who pressed on towards the divine goal, God had promised to give them.

  • Claiming the Promised Land: Caleb, one of the twelve spies sent to explore Canaan, maintained unwavering faith in God’s promise (Numbers 13-14). Despite the majority’s fear and doubt, Caleb declared, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30). His trust in God’s faithfulness led to his inheritance of the land (Joshua 14:6-15).
  • Wholehearted Devotion: Caleb’s pressing forward involved wholehearted commitment. Even at the age of 85, he requested the challenging hill country of Hebron, where giants dwelled. His faith and courage exemplify pressing toward divine goals.
  • Walking in the Spirit:

Galatians 5:16 (ESV) – “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

Moving forward in faith involves a daily walk in the Spirit, relying on His guidance and empowerment. Noah is an example of a man who walked in the Spirit (which is living a life of holiness and total obedience to God) and experienced divine providence, protection, and favour from God Almighty.

  • Righteousness and Obedience: Noah “walked with God” during a time of great wickedness (Genesis 6:9). God instructed him to build an ark to save humanity and animals from the flood. Noah’s obedience, even when it seemed illogical, demonstrated his walk in the Spirit.
  • Faith in God’s Promise: Hebrews 11:7 highlights Noah’s faith. He believed God’s warning about the coming flood and acted accordingly. His daily walk involved trust in God’s promises and unwavering commitment to righteousness.
  • Holiness (keeping His laws or commandments) is key for God to assist you in moving forward in life, destiny, ministry and marriage.
  • Surrendering Control:

Proverbs 16:9 (ESV) – “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

-Surrendering control to God and allowing Him to guide our steps is fundamental to moving forward in faith. Moses was a man who surrendered himself to God;

  • Reluctant Obedience: When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, Moses hesitated. He felt unworthy and begged God to send someone else (Exodus 3-4). However, God assured Moses that He would be with him. Moses surrendered to God’s will, trusting Him to guide his steps.
  • Leading the Israelites: Despite his initial reluctance, Moses obeyed God’s instructions. He surrendered control over his fears and doubts, allowing God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. His faith and reliance on God’s guidance were essential for their great success in the journey to the promise land.
  • When you completely surrender to God, He now takes control and navigates your life to divine success, for He establishes the steps of the godly. (Psalms 37:23)

Meditate on Psalms 37:23; “The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives.” (NLT)

  • Perseverance in Prayer:

Colossians 4:2 (ESV) – “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”

-Persevering in prayer keeps us connected to God and empowers us to move forward in faith. Hannah was a woman who was fervent at the place of prayer and God moved her forward in her marital destiny

  • Desperate Prayer for a Child: Hannah, a barren woman, poured out her heart to God, weeping and praying for a child. Her persistence led to God’s favour, and she gave birth to Samuel, who became a prophet and judge in Israel (1 Samuel 1:9-20).
  • Faithful Worship and Thanksgiving: After Samuel’s birth, Hannah continued to worship and thank God, demonstrating her unwavering faith and gratitude (1 Samuel 2:1-10).

Conclusion: Moving forward in faith encompasses a journey of trust, life-style of prayer, holiness obedience, and perseverance, anchored in the wisdom, and promises of God’s Word.
