Scripture Reflection:
Joel 2:25a; “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…” NKJV
What is Divine Restoration? Divine restoration is God’s supernatural act of returning what was lost, stolen, broken, or destroyed—bringing it back better, fuller, or more meaningful than before. Unlike ordinary restoration, divine restoration often goes beyond just replacing what was lost—it multiplies, elevates, and redeems it for His glory. Throughout Scripture, God consistently reveals Himself as a Restorer. He doesn’t just mend the broken—He revives, replenishes, and even resurrects. In Ezekiel 37:5-6, God speaks over dry bones, saying: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live… Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” This powerful image shows that even the most hopeless situations can be restored by God’s word and Spirit.

Let’s explore five broad areas where God restores:
1) God Restores Things: God is concerned with every area of our lives—even material losses. In Job 42:10, we read, “And the Lord restored Job’s losses… indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Job lost property, wealth, and even health, but God restored them abundantly.
but his livestock and possessions were clearly doubled (Job 42:12).
What may seem like a financial dead end or a permanent loss is not too hard for God.
2) God Restores Opportunities: Sometimes we miss out on divine opportunities due to fear, mistakes, or timing. But God can bring them around again or open new doors. In the life of Jonah, although he initially ran from God’s call, God gave him a second chance to fulfil his mission (Jonah 3:1). Divine restoration means second chances and opportunities—and a lot better ones.
3) God Restores Time: Only God can redeem time. He can accelerate progress, bring fruitfulness in barren seasons, and restore lost years. Blessings and opportunities that should have come your way years ago but were blocked or lost for whatever reason—when the Restorer intervenes in your situation, He adds them up with interest and brings them into your today. This is how God restores the time you have lost in life. As He promised in Joel 2:25, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” Even if you feel like you’ve wasted time, God can turn your latter days into your most productive and joyful ones.
4) God Restores Destiny-Defining Relationships: Sometimes, restoration comes through relationships we thought were lost—relationships that had the potential to open doors of favour and advancement in our lives. Considering the story of Joseph; Despite being betrayed and sold into slavery, Joseph later became a ruler in Egypt. When his brothers came seeking food during the famine, Joseph forgave them and restored their relationship. This reunion not only healed their family but also positioned Joseph’s brothers and their entire household for divine provision and favour during a time of severe famine, through Joseph’s strong influence
5) God Restores Health Jeremiah 30:17; “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord, “Because they called you an outcast, saying: ‘This is Zion; no one seeks her.’”
If your body has been ravaged by sickness, I want to assure you today—God will restore your health. Place your hand in faith on the area affected, and I decree over you now: let healing flow into your body by the power in the blood of Jesus. Be restored in your health in Jesus Name. Amen
While this message focuses on physical healing, God also restores mental health—bringing peace to troubled minds and lifting the weight of anxiety and depression.
He restores spiritual health as well. If you are a believer under satanic oppression, I declare that God will deliver you from any demonic captivity. You are free in Jesus Name. Amen
God restores marital health. If love and joy have gone missing in your home, I declare that God will reignite unity, peace, and affection in your household, in Jesus Name. Amen
And God restores financial health. If you are facing debt or lack, I decree supernatural provision and wisdom to steward resources well. Your finances are being restored in Jesus Name. Amen
Reflection: No matter what you’ve lost, God will restore. It may not always look the same, but it will be far better and always carry His goodness. Wait on Him, trust His process, and know that He is a faithful Restorer.
Altar call: For anyone reading this article who is not saved and wants to be part of the family of God or you want to re-dedicate your life back to Jesus, please repeat this out loud. “Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I have sinned against you. Lord Jesus forgive me of my sins. I repent of my sins. Lord Jesus come into my life and be my Lord now and forever in Jesus Name. Amen
Prayer: Father, You are the Faithful Restorer, arise for me in Your mercy and restore all good things that I have lost in time, in opportunities, in things, in health, in Jesus Name.
