-Jesus said so (John 17:17; Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth).
To reject “The Truth” is to reject Him – and to thus perish, according to Him (John 12:48-50
Vs 50; And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak. NKJV
-Jesus says exactly as the FATHER tells HIM, He speaks. This is another reason to believe in Jesus that His words are true because they come from the FATHER.
-For example I may say to my son; go and tell mummy that I am waiting for her, he would go carrying my words and he would say, mummy, daddy is waiting for you. My wife would acknowledge him because she believes the word that our son says is from me but if she doubts that the words he is speaking comes from daddy, then she will most likely come to find me to validate what was said from me.
-Most time we believers say we believe God but when we hear a word from Jesus for example that say come to me all you are burdened and I will give you rest! Then we doubt it because of our circumstances. In actual fact we are saying we do not trust the validity & authenticity of the truth behind that word.
-You must of a necessity make up your mind to consciously believe every promise that Jesus gives you from scripture regardless of what is happening around you, because you know the words of Jesus come from God who can never lie
-Those who ludicrously claim that we cannot know the truth; that Jesus did not speak the truth; or who proclaim that there is no such thing as absolute truth, call Jesus a liar (John 8:42-47).
-In fact the world system for example in UK if God opens your eye are working hard to make people think the gospel of Jesus is a lie. (No wonder Romans 3:4a; let God be [a]true but every man a liar.)
John 8 Vs 46b Jesus says “if I tell you the truth why do you not believe?”
-It is expected that if someone comes into contact with the truth, they should believe but from the statement of Jesus we can see that despite the fact that people know the truth, yet they do not believe! -You preach to someone the truth of God’s gospel, they say this is just fantasy! But does their lack of believe change the truth? No! -For example it is the truth that stone is a solid material and you tell me this but if I tell you I do not believe that stone is solid, does my unbelieve negate the truth! No way but my unbelief may end up harming me one day, because in my unbelieve I say stone is not solid but liquid and decide to swallow it! Let’s just say my bowels will remind me of my foolishness!
-And that is how many believers have ignored the truth of God’s word and ended up harming themselves only to later regret.
-For it was Jesus Himself who said to those who had believed in Him just a few verses earlier, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32)
What does it mean to be free?
- able to act or be done as one wishes; not under the control of another:
-The freedom we have in God’s truth is never a license to do as we wish but rather the freedom to do as God wants. For example God wants you to have a life free of poverty and therefore we act and live based on that truth. So if we put what we know as a definition of truth into that verse it could mean something like this, “And you shall know the truth and the truth you know shall empower you to live the life that God wants you to have.”
But remember for you to live the life God wants you to have, you must not only know the truth but do the truth (no wonder the book of James says faith without works is dead)
- Free also means not or no longer confined or imprisoned:
-This second definition of free is that you are no longer confined, limited, or imprisoned.
Meaning that God’s truth has the potent power to break anything confining your life. God’s truth has the absolute power to end limitation in your life. God’s truth has the power to destroy every satanic prison holding your health, wealth, or family.
-So with these understanding if we put this definition into the verse it would read something like this. “And you shall know the truth and the truth you know shall destroy limitation in your life.”
-God’s truth and God’s Son are completely inseparable. This is because Jesus is “the Word became flesh [who] dwelt among us… full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
-In other words, He was the walking, talking, living, breathing, word of God in the flesh. He was the human embodiment of God’s entire body of truth, all packaged up in one, physical, human body.
-Just as Jesus was the living, walking, talking truth and word of God, the Bible is simply the living, written, absolute truth and word of God
– READ (Hebrews 4:12; For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart). AMPC
1. God’s truth is alive. Meaning that it has a life of its own. It is not dead. If you think about this at the biochemical level. The basic component of any organism is a cell. It is because cells are living that imparts life into that cell. It is because all the cells in our body system from the digestive to the neurological system are living gives us life. If all the cells stop functioning that person is dead. And so because all God’s word are living, imparts life to God’s word.
Now if a system in the body becomes dysfunctional. E.g. the cells in the heart dies for whatever reason. As small as the cardiovascular system may be relative to the whole body. The person will have a very short-life span and even die immediately. What I am trying to say is that all of God’s word is alive not just some part or ¾ of it. Because if only 75% of God’s word was alive, its enough to negate the power and ability of God. If only 99% of God’s word is alive, that 1% is enough to negate the truth and power of God’s word. So my charge to you is that all of God’s word is alive (whether it has to with health, restoration, recovery, fruitfulness) so can have complete confidence that there is power in His word, that His word is the absolute truth (there is never a chance that it can fail)
- God’s truth has power. Physics defines power as the ability to do work which is force multiplied by distance. So it means work done (which is power) is the ability of a force to take an object and move it over a specified distance as determined by that force.
You know what that means, that God’s truth has the ability to take your life, destiny and keep moving it, till it gets to where God wants you to be. So, if you are in sickness now, the divine power of God is coming upon you now to move to divine health in the name of Jesus
God said to me, son, my word also imparts kinetic energy. You see when an object that is stationary receives a net force it begins to move. That object is said to have gained kinetic energy. (I have come to prophesy God’s word over someone here whose life has been stationary, God’s word is bringing divine force upon your life now and you will begin to make progress in the name of Jesus.
There are some objects which are already moving, but if a greater net force is applied, that objects moves even faster. There is someone here who is going to receive divine kinetic energy through His word and your life will experience divine speed in the name of Jesus
- God’s truth has effect at the soul realm. The soul house’s our mind, emotions and will. Meaning that God’s word can influence our mind (the way we think, our thought processes). God’s word can influence our emotions (the way we feel or how we adapt our feelings in a godly way). God’s word influences our will (our choices in life, our express desires, our habitual tendency). So when God’s word controls our will, we can say like Jesus; my food is to do the will of my Father John 4:34a
a) God’s truth has effect at the level of the spirit man & spirit realm. The spirit man is made up of three parts or functions. Conscience, fellowship & intuition. When they say a man’s conscience is seared, not only does he not have the innate ability to distinguish between right & wrong anymore; God’s word does not even convict or justify him before God. But a believer that is open to God’s word, will find that the Holy-Spirit controls his conscience now, and will use the word of God to convict him of sin when he disobeys but also justify him when he is in line with God’s word. The fellowship function means our spirit has the ability to commune with God, to touch God and for God to touch us at that level. It is the word of God in us that enhances our fellowship function of the spirit with God ( no wonder a children’s song says, read your bible and pray every day if you want to grow).
b) You see God’s word affects the spiritual realm that governs our spirit man. Just like the human body is surrounded by a physical environment. Our spirit man is surrounded by a spiritual environment which normal eyes cannot see but thank God His word controls the spiritual realm. How do I know this is seen in the book of Job, when God had a discussion with the devil and they talked about Job, and the devil says yes I tried to attack him but I noted you built a shield around him, so I had to depart. Question; was this a physical shield? No, because as holy as Job was he did not even know that the reason he had been immune to trouble and disaster all his life was that there was a shield in the spiritual realm, God’s word which says “touch not my anointed & do my prophet no harm” over Job. God’s word became a spiritual shield over him and all that was related to him.
This means as a believer who trust in God’s word; any dark power, spell, sorcery or divination cannot prosper against you if they come against you spiritually, because God’s word becomes a weapon of warfare to protect & deliver you.
c) God’s word knows and has effect on the deepest part of our nature. This has to do with the purposes of our heart, our motive. Proverbs 20:27 (The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.). God’s word knows and judges the motives in our heart because it can clearly see our deepest nature that no else can see. My inner motives as close as my wife is with me, she cannot discern it except I reveal it to her, only God knows it. This explains one reason why the word of God does not work for some believers. For example, a man is holding on to & praying God’s word that says; God will exalt my horn in life. So, he says O LORD exalt my horn financially. His wife hears that prayer and thinks this my caring husband wants to help us his family but God goes word goes beyond the surface to deepest part of that man, and he can see pride & immorality in that man. And God says if I give him this wealth he wants, his wife and children that has suffered with him, he will abandon them for a strange woman, he will then start to belittle people. And for some believers this is the reason why God’s word does not work for them because God loves them too much to give them a lifting in life that will lead them to hell only because their deep motive for wanting that blessing is wrong. You must of a necessity allow the word of God to always scan and analyse your deep motives and if there be anything in it that deepest motive of yours that want to glorify flesh, quickly go to God and ask for mercy and link it back to glorifying God. You see if God knows that the deep desire or motive of yours will glorify God, His word will work for you. When Hannah now linked her deep desire for having a child from just getting back at the other wife but to glorify God, that same year she took in and gave birth to Samuel, an anointed prophet whom God did allow any of his words to fall to the ground.
