The concept of God’s grace is central to our Christian faith and carries numerous benefits as outlined in scripture.

You see according to scripture God’s Grace is also related to His Throne, and therefore whatever authority God’s Throne commands, His Grace does the same.

Hebrews 4:16; “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”.

From this verse alone we see that from The throne of Grace we get 3 things that cover the all-round grace we need in life to be successful and victorious.

  1. We obtain mercy.
  2. We find grace.
  3. We get divine help.

If a believers life is lacking one or all of these 3 dimensions of God’s Throne of grace; for example the operation of mercy may be absent in your life, or your destiny is lacking grace, or your life is lacking divine help, it’s a sign that the Throne of Grace is not working for you the way it should and there is urgent need to desperately go to God in prayer and ask for mercy!

God’s throne which is of grace or put in another way that the composition of God’s throne is “grace” and therefore whatever God’s Throne of Grace can do, undoubtedly His grace can do and even more. Put it this way, God’s Throne of Grace, which is a reflection of His Grace, carries power & authority beyond our human comprehension

I am informed that the throne of united kingdom, on which king Charles currently seats represents the legal authority for the existence of the government. So without this throne of UK and Kings Charles approval the current government will have no power.

Hence, in the same way God whose name is the God all Grace (1 Peter 5:10) seats on a throne called the throne of Grace and without His grace and His Throne of Grace supporting us we can do absolutely nothing in life. We need God’s grace in every dimension of our lives, whether it is your walk with God, health, family, career, finances and so on. In otherwards we need all round of God’s grace to cover ever dimension of our lives.

Therefore what are some of the advantages we derive as believers from God’s grace?

  1. Forgiveness of Sins: God’s grace offers forgiveness for all sins, no matter how grave they may be. It is through His grace that believers can find redemption and reconciliation with God (Ephesians 1:7; In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace) NKJV
  2. Salvation: God’s grace is the means by which we are saved. Scripture teaches us that salvation is a free gift from God, not something that can be earned through good works (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Just like a car or an air-plane conveys a man to a destination, according to Titus 2:11 (“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men”); God’s grace is therefore the mandatory mode of transport that bring men into salvation. No other incorrect mode of transport such is Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism can do this

  1. Eternal Life: Through God’s grace, we as believers receive the promise of eternal life. This means that you and I will have everlasting fellowship with God in heaven (John 3:16).
  2. Justification: God’s grace justifies or declares us as believers righteous in His sight, not because of our own merits but because of our faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:24; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus)
  3. Empowerment: God’s Grace is related to His Power. Grace doesn’t stop at forgiveness; it also empowers you and I as believers to live a life that is pleasing to God. It provides the strength and guidance to resist sin and grow in holiness (2 Corinthians 12:9). It provides power to overcome the weaknesses in our lives.
  4. Peace and Comfort: Many times the word “peace” or “comfort” used in scripture is just an expression of God’s grace. God’s grace brings peace and comfort in times of trouble and distress. As a true child of God, you can find solace knowing that God’s grace is sufficient to sustain you through difficulties (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
  5. Access to God: Grace allows believers to approach God with confidence, knowing that they can boldly come before His throne to find mercy and grace in times of need (Hebrews 4:16). Through His grace we have access to His wisdom, His mysteries, His Light and power dimensions of God.
  6. Transformation: God’s grace works in the lives of believers, transforming them into the image of Christ. It encourages us to live a life that reflects God’s love and character (2 Corinthians 3:18; But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord).
  7. Freedom from Legalism: Grace liberates believers from the burden of obtaining salvation by works, emphasizing that salvation and God’s grace are not earned through our religious rituals or rules but received through faith (Galatians 5:1; “So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law”) NLT.

But just to bring balance to this fact is this; the grace of God is no excuse to continue and persist in sin and wrong-doing. If we do this, we are abusing the grace of God upon as believers (Romans 6:1-2; Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it) NLT

  1. Unconditional Love: God’s grace is a demonstration of His unconditional love for humanity. It reassures us as believers that God’s love for is not based on our performance (because many times we still get it wrong!) but His grace upon our lives depends on His character (Romans 5:8; But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners). NLT

In summary, the biblical concept of God’s grace is a profound and essential aspect of the Christian faith, offering forgiveness, salvation, empowerment, peace, and a transformed life, all rooted in God’s love and mercy. It is a gift freely given to humanity through faith in Jesus Christ.

Some examples of Bible characters who found grace with God are:

  1. Noah: He was a righteous man who walked with God and obeyed God’s command to build an ark and save his family and the animals from the great flood. God’s grace protected Noah and his family from the judgment that came upon the wicked world. (Genesis 6:8-9, 7:1, 8:1, 9:1) (God’s grace is involved in protection and preservation)
  2. Abraham: He was called by God to leave his country and go to a land that God would show him. God’s grace promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations and that through his offspring all the nations of the earth would be blessed. God’s grace also provided a ram as a substitute for Isaac when Abraham was tested to sacrifice his son. (Genesis 12:1-3, 15:6, 22:1-14) (God’s grace is linked to the fulfilment of His promises/word. God’s grace is linked to divine provision and supply)
  3. Jacob: It was simply because of God’s grace that Jacob was chosen over his older twin Esau to be a partaker of the covenant that God had established with his grand-father Abraham. God’s grace appeared to Jacob in a dream of a ladder reaching to heaven and assured him of His presence and protection. God’s grace also changed Jacob’s name to Israel and promised him that he will be a father of many nation. (Genesis 28:10-22, 32:22-32, 35:9-12) (from the life of Jacob, we can see that God’s grace is linked to divine appointment or selection, God’s grace is linked to preservation, God’s grace is linked to divine enlargement)
  4. Joseph: He was the favourite son of Jacob who was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. God’s grace gave Joseph favour in the eyes of Potiphar, the prison keeper, and Pharaoh. God’s grace also enabled Joseph to interpret dreams and save Egypt and his family from famine. God’s grace also reconciled Joseph with his brothers and preserved the nation of Israel. (Genesis 39:1-6, 21-23, 41:14-45, 45:1-15, 50:15-21) (God’s grace is linked to divine favour, God’s grace is linked to divine reconciliation and restoration, God’s grace that was upon Joesph’s ability to interpret dreams caused him to rise in life)
  5. Moses: He was the deliverer of Israel who was born at a time when Pharaoh ordered all Hebrew baby boys to be killed. God’s grace preserved Moses’ life by having him adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter. God’s grace also called Moses from the burning bush and commissioned him to lead His people out of slavery in Egypt. God’s grace also gave Moses the Ten Commandments and the Tabernacle as a way for His people to worship Him. (Exodus 2:1-10, 3:1-22, 12:31-42, 19:1-25, 20:1-17, 25:1-9) (God’s grace is linked to divine appointment, God’s grace is linked to accessing divine wisdom and knowledge)
  6. The children of Israel, who were under the yoke of Egypt but God’s grace caused them to still greatly multiply, even though under slavery. Exodus 1:12; “But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became”.

The mystery of God’s grace upon a man is this, the enemy tries to oppress you but in doing so, God’s grace is activated and you increase in life, you expand in life, you are taking more territories for Christ. It’s like by the mystery of God’s grace, God uses the oppression against you as fuel to enlarge your coast in life. A time will come, when the enemy will say, we better leave this fellow alone because the more we attack him, the stronger and mightier he becomes. That is the mystery of God’s all-round grace upon a man. God bless you
