All sorts of hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous in our walk with God. Things you can’t explain and don’t even understand can sometimes come at you even as a child of God. It does not necessarily mean that you have sinned, or that you are not praying enough.
Psalms 34:19a AMP (Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous)
Even Paul an anointed man of God who saw the 3rd heaven faced trouble. (Philippians 1:23a; But I am hard-pressed from both directions)
Wow! Paul, a man who did supernatural things by the power of God was hard-pressed!
So be comforted if as a believer living right before God you are facing hardship because it’s part of what we have to go through by God’s sovereign design. Also, even if you sinned against God and have repented of your sins and you are now facing the consequence (God’s discipline), be of good cheer and trust in Him to see you through, because whom God loves, He disciplines as a Father for your ultimate good and with eternity in view such that you can be partakers of His Holiness (Hebrews 12: 6-11).
Additionally for this category of believer, seek and keep seeking God’s mercy even in this divine discipline, as God unlike man is merciful. No wonder the bible says, “His mercy triumphs over judgement” James 2:13.
Remember, God is bigger than any mistake that you have made; He can make good out of the most broken pieces of your life if you just surrender everything to the Almighty God.
Going back to our theme that being a believer does not equate to having no issues in life; Jesus has already told us that the way of the righteous shall certainly be littered with trouble of various forms and degrees.
John 16:33; These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation (or trouble); but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Notice the certainty of Jesus words that as His righteous ones you will face trouble and not you may face trouble
So as a worker-in-church, or as one who passionately serves God in spirit and truth you should not give up on God just because trouble comes your way. That is the supposition of the enemy in your mind, to make you walk away from God.
You don’t say because of trouble you cease to come to church and fellowship with the brethren or stop serving in His vineyard (Church)
For believers (fire of affliction); are often the tools by which God fashions us for better things.” God uses those fire of affliction in our lives to remove the chaff in us. He uses the fire of affliction to help develop character in us.
God will never allow the fire of affliction we face to kill us. Psalm 29:7; The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.
God divides the fire means, God controls or allows the fire to do the job it needs to do on you as a believer. Which is to purify you and not harm you.
God uses the fire of sanctification like a spiritual detergent just as you use detergent to remove the dirt in your clothes (Dirt in this analogy represents the activities of flesh that are still active in you. These are the things such as unrestrained anger, sexual immorality, gossiping, lying and so on that still bring defilement to your life and therefore God will use fire of sanctification to cleanse you!)
God controlling the fire also means that while He will not allow the fire you face in life to destroy you as a believer. (Isaiah 43:2c; When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.)
But He allows the fire to destroy the wicked. In Daniel 3:22, we are told that the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
Just look at the 3 Hebrew men thrown into the fire. (Study Daniel 3). It was heated seven times over but despite how wickedly hot the fire of affliction was it did not kill them. God did not allow the fire of affliction to kill them because He controls the fire.
In the end the fire of affliction was used by God to showcase His power in their lives and they all got wonderful career promotion in the end from the same wicked king that wanted to exterminate them. I decree over your life, that those “kings” wickedly working against you, shall be the ones that God Almighty will compel to lift you up in life, in Jesus Name
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NKJV.
So no matter the difficulties you currently face, God promises that because you love Him deeply, He will cause those problems in your life to bring praise to His name
Let’s end with this, no matter the perplexity of the hardships confronting you, God promises to deliver you from them all. Not some of them but all of them. Someone shout Hallelujah!
Psalm 34:19 (Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all) NKJV
God bless you richly in Jesus Name
